Knowledge is the building block of Judaism. Love of God is contingent on what one knows about Him.
ועל פי הדעה--על פי האהבה--אם מעט מעט, ואם הרבה הרבה
I am planning to post from time to time some of the ideas that I develop as I read and think about issues that catch my attention. Usually they relate to Machshava or Halacha especially how they affect our daily life. I am looking forward to learn from all commenters.

Achdut - The Unity Of The Jewish People Is Its Strength
This recalls the old joke. Two Jews meet on a park bench. Sam says to Alex, Sam, you look very unhappy. What's on your mind? Well, says Sam, I was reading the Daily News, and every article talked about how the Jews are suffering all over the world. How could I be happy? Well, says Alex, your problem is that you are reading the wrong newspaper. I read Der Sturmer, and I sleep like a baby. The Jews control the banks, the Jews control the media, the Jews even control the weather. I'm thrilled to read how powerful we are!
Same thing. It is such a joke to attribute Jewish success to unity. A historian, in particular, should be ashamed to attribute to the Jews the one thing we are so poor at, we've been a laughing stock about our suicidal internecine squabbles. Thes marvelous interview allows me to dream of the mythical "United Jewry." Now I'll be off to make some nefarious and manipulative plans... so when do you think we should let the market recover, he asked as he twirled his mustache? Should we wait until after we bake (scary music) THE MATZOS?????
My favorite line from Swift's "A Modest Proposal". (There is no need for us to consider the drastic step) "Of quitting our animosities and factions, nor acting any longer like the Jews, who were murdering one another at the very moment their city was taken...."
Scary?

It's just that it's coming from an unlikely place and an unlikely context.
Obviously, a Muslim is going to say moronic things about Jews. Why should this guy be different than any other Muslim.
